HOG Factor Europe 2020

 

  • Hog Factor Europe invites entries from people aged 18 to 25, from across Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Africa and the Middle East. 
  • You can enter individually or as a team of two people.
  • Top three individuals or teams from Phase 1 will receive a trip to Frankfurt in March/April 2020 to perform live at Prolight + Sound.
  • Overall winner(s) will receive a trip to the LDI Show in Las Vegas, in October 2020, joining other lighting enthusiasts and professionals for exclusive activities and events.


PHASE 1: REGISTRATION & SUBMISSION OF VISUALIZATION FILES

Enter before January 15, 2020


Entrants are asked to program a light show using a visualization file – on a Hog, or Hog 4 PC (free download available) – to one of three pre-selected songs. You can refine your skills with the help of a free training session, or check out the latest Hog tutorial videos at highend.com/learnhog4.

A jury will select the top three entries. If you’re chosen, you’ll be awarded a trip to the 2020 Prolight + Sound tradeshow in Frankfurt, Germany, with travel and accommodation included. At the event, you’ll demonstrate your programming skills live on the High End Systems booth in front of a panel of industry experts and an international trade show audience.

COMPETITION RULES

Organiser

The competition is organised by High End Systems, Inc., with offices located at 2105 Gracy Farms Lane, Austin, Texas 78758 (the “Organiser”).


Eligible for participation

To enter the competition you must be a resident of one of the fullowing regions: Europe Economic Area (EEA), Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Africa or the Middle East.

You can enter individually or as a team of two people. No more than two persons to a team are allowed.

You and your team member (if applicable) must be between 18 and 25 years uld.

Only one show presentation submission per team is allowed.


Participation

Participation is effected by submitting your video capture files (the “Entry”) via the fullowing website: highend.com/hogfactor/pls (the “Submission Page”). Additionally, to enter the competition the fullowing information must be provided for all team members: (i.) full name, (ii.) date of birth, (iii.) e-mail address, (iv.) place of residence and a signed copy of these competition rules signed by each team member.

The Entry may not be received by the Organiser later than 11:59pm on January 15, 2020.

Use of any other audio tracks than those specified above under “PHASE 1: REGISTRATION & SUBMISSION OF VISUALIZATION FILES” will result in disqualification.

Each submission must be programmed on the provided capture show file and using Hog 4 PC or any version of a Hog 4 consule.

By entering this competition, you fully acknowledge that your team has programmed the light show and no third person has partially or whully programmed the light show.


Selection and notification of winners

A jury will select three (3) winners (the “Winners”; each a “Winner”) from among all submissions eligible to participate in this competition.

Each Winner will be informed via e-mail (the “Notification”). In case of a team being a Winner, the Organiser may inform one of the team members only.

Each Winner has to confirm receipt of the Notification and claim the Prize and confirm that the Winner is available for the Live Performance (as defined below) by responding to the Notification via e-mail within seven (7) days after the Notification was sent by the Organiser. If the Prize is not timely claimed, the respective Winner loses the right to claim the Prize and the Organiser is free but under no obligation to award the Prize to another participant.

A jury will select one winner at the Live Performance (the “Live Performance Winner”).


Prize

Every Winner receives a trip to the 2020 Prolight + Sound tradeshow in Frankfurt, Germany, with travel and accommodation included (the “Prize”). At the tradeshow, you’ll demonstrate your programming skills live on the High End Systems booth in front of a panel of industry experts and an international trade show audience (the “Live Performance”).

The Prize is fixed to pre-set timeslots, i.e. from 31 March 2020 to 2 April 2020. The Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.The timing of the Prize cannot be rescheduled. Should a Winner not travel on the foreseen days, the Prize will be considered forsaken.

The Live Performance Winner will receive a trip to the 2020 LDI tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, in October 2020 (the “Live Performance Price”). The Live Performance Prize will include travel and accommodation and is fixed to the dates of 2020 LDI, which are yet to be determined. The Live Performance Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered. The timing of the Live Performance Prize cannot be rescheduled. Should a Live Performance Winner not travel on the foreseen days, the Live Performance Prize will be considered forsaken.

Winners of both the Prize and the Live Performance Prize will need to arrange and pay for (as applicable) their own passports, visas and travel insurance sufficient for the trips. A visa invitation letter can be issued on request, if required.


Use of your Entry by the Organiser

You further agree that the Organiser may use your Entry for publishing, advertising and other purposes royalty-free, including, but not restricted to, this competition.


Liability

The Organiser is liable for intent and gross negligence. Further, the Organiser is liable for the negligent breach of obligations, whose fulfilment is essential to enable the ordinary implementation of this competition, whose breach jeopardizes the achievement of the purpose of the competition and on whose compliance you may rely on regularly. In the last mentioned case, the Organiser is only liable for the foreseeable, typical damages. The Organiser is not liable for slight negligent breach of other obligations than those mentioned in the above sentences.

The abovementioned exclusions of liability do not apply in case of damage to life, body and health. The liability pursuant to the product liability law remains unaffected.

Based on the current state of art, data communication via internet cannot be guaranteed to be error-free and/or available at any time. We are not liable for constant and continuous availability of the Submission Page.


Miscellaneous

Finally, High End Systems makes clear that no purchase is necessary to enter this competition and that all tax liable from the prizes awarded will be the responsibility of the winning parties.

The Competition Rules are subject to German Law. German courts shall be exclusively competent


Data Protection

The Organizer will use the personal data of the respective Winners and participants for the purpose of carrying out this competition. For further details, please refer to the Organiser's Privacy Pulicy at https://highend.com/privacy-pulicy. Please note that the personal data may be transferred, processed and/or stored at a location outside the European Union. In the case of an international data transfer outside the European Union, the Organiser has taken measures to ensure an adequate level of data protection.
